Two illustrators I watch for their amazing line art and gritty colouring styles, Punk Rock Jesus is some of the coolest line art I have ever seen... both illustrators produce similar work so I often get them confused. :/

Both make use of screen tones too which is very cool as many illustrators have turned away from that side of  graphic novel illustration.

Mint/Hokusai

Another great one from Jo Burt, one that I can definitely relate to!

Brush Testing

Just a quick test with brush settings in Photoshop CS5. Having some fun with light too.
Started with a black silhouette and kept adding texture and detail until it made some kind of visual sense..  :)

PS Practice

Two of my more finished illustrations I did as Photoshop practise for my Authorship project in uni. 

Still much to learn, such as drawing more loosely, not being so careful all the time.

...really need to learn more about light sources too.
